HSCie Advised AMAG Austria Metall AG on the Acquisition of a Majority Stake in the Aircraft Philipp Group

Hübner Schlösser & Cie (HSCie), an internationally active independent corporate finance advisory firm headquartered in Munich-Grünwald, advised AMAG Austria Metall AG on the acquisition of a majority stake (70%) in the Aircraft Philipp Group (ACP).

ACP manufactures installation-ready metal components primarily for the aerospace industry and generated revenues of EUR 50 million in 2019. ACP’s core competency is the highly specialized machining of aluminum and titanium. Its production facilities, employing more than 200 people, are located in Übersee/Chiemsee and Karlsruhe. ACP looks back on 50 years of successful operations.

With the majority investment in ACP, AMAG extends its own value chain by adding mechanical processing capabilities (such as milling and drilling) and the production of installation-ready specialty components made from aluminum and titanium. Combined with AMAG’s recognized expertise in rolling, casting, and recycling, this creates a particularly sustainable value chain.

“This includes resource-efficient closed-loop recycling of plate offcuts and chips generated during the milling process, an improved buy-to-fly ratio, and optimized logistics throughout the entire value chain. Altogether, this results in a significantly improved CO2 footprint. Based on a stable ownership structure, the joint service offering will continue to be expanded,” said Gerald Mayer, CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG.

HSCie comprehensively supported AMAG throughout the acquisition process. “HSCie managed the process prudently and shaped the transaction at critical stages through its high level of expertise and solution-oriented approach,” commented Gerald Mayer, CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG.
