HSCie advised AMAG Austria Metall AG on the acquisition of a majority stake in the Aircraft Philipp Group

Hübner Schlösser & Cie (HSCie), an internationally active, independent corporate finance advisory firm based in Munich-Grünwald exclusively advised AMAG Austria Metall AG on the acquisition of a majority stake (70%) in Aircraft Philipp Group (ACP).

ACP manufactures assembly-ready metal parts primarily for the aviation and aerospace industry and achieved a revenue of EUR 50 million in 2019. ACP’s core competence represents the highly specialized mechanical processing of aluminum and titanium. The production sites with more than 200 employees are located in Übersee/Chiemsee and Karlsruhe. ACP accumulates 50 years of successful business activity.

With the acquisition of ACP’s majority shares, AMAG is extending its own value creation by adding mechanical processing (such as milling and drilling) and the manufacturing of assembly-ready special components made of aluminum and titanium. In combination with AMAG’s proven competencies in the field of rolling, casting and recycling, it represents a particularly sustainable value chain. “This comprises of the resource-saving closed-loop-recycling of plate offcuts and chips resulted from milling processes, as well as an improved buy-to-fly-ratio and optimized logistics along the entire value chain, resulting in a considerably reduced CO2-footprint. Based on a stable ownership structure, the aim is to further expand the joint product portfolio“, said Gerald Mayer, CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG.

HSCie advised AMAG during all steps of the acquisition. “HSCie managed the process prudently and shaped the transaction at crucial intersections applying it’s high level of expertise and solution orientation.”, said Gerald Mayer, CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG.
